What are FAST Fridays? The Titans FAST Friday Series happens once a month to give our Titans 1, 2, and 3, Regional Dev, Divisional Dev, and Senior Competitive swimmers, a chance to get behind the blocks, show off their skills and race in a comfortable and familiar setting. FAST Fridays aims to teach our swimmers how to have fun and develop a love for racing. At the same time, our FAST Fridays also teach our swimmers the rules of the sport and gives them a taste of what a real swim meet will be like!

FAST Fridays will be a little different this year. This year is an important year for our sport; 2024 is an Olympic year, where Canada's best swimmers and athletes will compete against the world's best in Paris this summer. So, every FAST Friday, our Titans will journey back in time, hold on to their RMSC passports, and dive into the past 7 Summer Olympics until they reach Paris 2024. RMSC Coaches know that this year's FAST Fridays series will offer our time-travelling Titans a fun experience to cheer, race, and learn about past Olympic games because you never know–they might be there someday!

First Stop, Atlanta 1996

Our first destination is where you can enjoy peaches and peanuts with a bottle of the world-famous soft drink invented there. Where are we talking about? No other than Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in the year 1996! Our time-traveling Titans are starting their first FAST Friday adventure at the Atlanta 1996 games. Atlanta 1996 is notable; not only was this the 100th anniversary of the Olympic Games, but arguably the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali, lit the Olympic cauldron to open the 1996 Games...fitting since the MR Boxing Club is right next door. MRLC's pool will transform into Georgia Tech Aquatic Center where four world records were broken, and the first women's Olympic 4x200m Freestyle relay was swum. Like Muhammad Ali, our Titans will float like butterflies and sting like bees in the pool!

We will see you all at The Celebration of the Century!

GO TITANS, GO!
